Another Dual Destination Deal

Story by Dale Irvin
For a low-fare two-leg trip, soar to
Florida to soak up a bit of sun, and then
pop over "the pond" to the
United Kingdom for castles and adventure.
You may recall that I recently opined about how you could get two vacation destinations for the nearly the price of one, by catching a cheap flight to Ft. Lauderdale and taking advantage of Spirit Airlines’ frequent and amazing deals to South and Central America.
A similar opportunity has appeared with Orlando’s nearby Sanford Airport as its nexus, for those willing to follow the less beaten path in search of a bargain.

European airline Globespan operates flights into Sanford primarily designed to haul travelers from the UK to DisneyWorld. But of course those flights also work for those of us headed in the other direction, and on select dates in May, they’re offering deals to destinations like Glasgow, Scotland starting at just over $300 roundtrip, plus the usual annoying fees and taxes. Combine that with the deal I talked about last week from Gulfport on Allegiant Air that can get you to Sanford for well under a hundred bucks roundtrip, and you have an economic way to explore two destinations in one trip.

As with most great deals, this one requires detailed research and careful planning (plus a bit of driving), but for those of us for whom the thrill is in the hunt, it’s an invigorating challenge.

Fortunately both Globespan’s website (www.flyglobespan.com) and Allegiant’s website (www.allegiantair.com) offer handy calendars that show you on exactly which days the best deals are offered.
