You can drive for miles along the Gulf Coast, but no matter where your final destination, when you catch a glimpse of Florida’s Emerald Coast you really have to slow down, even pull over to appreciate why people flock to the area year ‘round.

Destin, the central town in the area known as “the Emerald Coast” along the white, sugar sanded shores of Florida’s panhandle, ranks as a favorite getaway for generations of travelers from our area.

And in addition to all the obvious sun and sand diversions, “dining out” has surfaced as a top attraction in Destin and beyond. The freshest seafood from the Gulf and around the world, coupled with the area’s ability to lure topnotch chefs, has excited visitors’ palates.  It’s always difficult to pick favorites, but good food and wine are meant to be shared, so here goes.
