Throughout its twenty-four years, Country Roads magazine has celebrated artistic enterprise in Louisiana and Mississippi by featuring the work of regional artists on its covers. Six years ago, with the help of Brunner Gallery, we took that celebration from the printed page to the painted one, commissioning a piece by Baton Rouge artist Rhea Gary to appear on the cover of the magazine’s September, 2000, Scenic Drives issue. In the years since, we have worked to extend the magazine’s support of the visual arts, not only on the cover and on the pages within, but also by continuing to commission cover works by the artists of Mississippi and Louisiana.

In 2007, The Country Roads Collection has grown to include works by Murrell Butler, Linda Trappey Dautreuil, Robin Durand, John Darling Haynes, Thad Matthew Morgan, Paul Schexnayder, Saliha Staib, Rolland Golden, Arless Day, Ramsey Ayers, Francis Pavy and many others.
