The first Monday of every month, the Burden Horticulture Society offers lunchtime "Reflections in the Garden," covering a wide range of gardening topics with special guest speakers. In September, Rural Life Museum Director David Floyd will reveal the history of the institution he has shepherded for more than two decades. Noon—1 pm at the Burden Conference Center, 4560 Essen Lane. Free for BHS members; $10 non-members. (225) 763-3990.
